Our Party’s next President will need to be an organizer.

The best indication of future performance is past performance and Richard Ciano has shown throughout his campaign that he will make it a priority to get out to the ridings and help our associations prepare for the next election.

I first met Richard in 2003 when we were both PC activists in the old riding of York North, and I was a volunteer on his successful 2005 campaign for CPC National Council.

Richard’s years of leadership and grassroots experience makes him the right choice for our next president.

I am pleased to join several PC MPPs, candidates of record, Conservative MPs, fellow PC exec members and party activists from across the province in supporting Richard Ciano for Ontario PC Party President.

Rob Elliott
4th Vice President,
Ontario PC Party

Letter from Rob

Friends,

My name is Rob Elliott and I am running for 4th Vice President of our Ontario PC Party.

I was born in Etobicoke and grew up in the small village of Kettleby in York Region. After graduating high school in Newmarket, I attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo where I had the honour to serve for two terms as President of the Laurier Campus Conservatives.

During the past two years, I have served as President of the Ottawa Centre PC Association.

On July 2nd, 2010, I married my wife, Courtney, and it is thanks to her support and patience, that I am able to take an active role in our great party.

Courtney and I live in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell where we both volunteer on our local PC riding association.

I was first elected to our Party Executive in 2008 and re-elected in 2010.

I am running for 4th Vice President because I believe our party belongs to its members.

It is the role of the Party Executive to work with our riding associations across Ontario to ensure that they have the tools and resources necessary to grow their associations in order to win the next election.

We must continue to bring in new members to our party because a small party will not win the next election, big parties win elections, small parties do not.

The next Party Executive must remain committed to:

  • Being available to assist in efforts by our ridings to raise funds and recruit new members and volunteers.
  • Holding Regional Meetings to share information about on-going projects and to share ideas on how the Party Executive can help individual ridings.
  • Having an early nominations process available for ridings that are ready to go, so that we can have our teams on the ground and meeting with voters in ridings across Ontario.
  • Providing state of the art training to volunteers and candidates on new tools and techniques because technology is constantly advancing and so must our Party.
  • Providing our activists with 24 hour access to the resources they need to run their associations and win elections- templates, training manuals, videos and customizable literature.
  • Ensuring that our members have the opportunity to participate in our party’s governance, direction setting and policy development- we must have a grassroots, member driven policy process that sees PC members from across Ontario collaborating on the plan that will lead Ontario forward under a Tim Hudak majority government.

I believe that our volunteers, who have spent many hours knocking on doors, putting up signs and managing our riding associations, are the best assets our Party has.

I look forward to seeing many of you at our party’s AGM in Niagara Falls as we continue building our party forward.

Sincerely,

Robert Elliott
